Sayu went to Yokohama Arena not long ago to watch Perfume’s concert. She found the dance coordination between the three members cool and admires them for it. She felt that Perfume’s concert gives a very cosy feeling. They value their fans and appreciate the hard work put in by the staffs to make the concert possible. The MC segments were funny with the three natural airheads. She thinks that if Gaki-san were to be with the three Perfume girls, she will tsukkomi them quite a bit. The funniest part was when Nocchi (Omoto Ayano) called her chin an elbow. Sayu found them cute and was moved by the concert which got her thinking about a lot of things after watching it.

Morning Musume – Kimagure Princess

Like other members, Sayu finds Linlin funny nowadays although initially it was difficult trying to understand her jokes, she is becoming really funny recently together with her funny choice of words. Recently, Sayu went out with Linlin after not hanging out together for some time. They had Monjayaki together. Even before they were in the store, Sayu had already said that she will be paying but Linlin insisted on paying. Sayu tried to get her to let Sayu foot half of the bill but she refused. It was embarrassing because the waiter was right in front of them so Sayu quickly apologised and allowed Linlin to pay.

After the meal, Sayu invited Linlin to her house. Other than Aichan and Eri, no other members has been to Sayu’s house. That makes Linlin the first junior to be there. They headed for the convenience store first to pick up some desserts which Sayu paid. Linlin kept apologising non-stop because of that even though the bill for Monjayaki was more expensive than the total amount of their desserts. Even after Linlin went home, she mailed Sayu and apologised again. Moving on to Linlin’s personality. Not only is she funny, Linlin is kind. She doesn’t look like people’s bad points but rather, their good points. When Linlin was at Sayu’s house, since it was Sayu’s house, Sayu had to play host. They watched a television program together in the living room and Sayu eventually fell asleep because she was feeling sleepy. By the time Sayu realised she has fallen asleep, it was already 1AM. Linlin didn’t try to wake Sayu up or anything. She just sat there watching different programs by herself. Instead of asking Sayu why she was asleep, Linlin told her that its okay to just sleep. Sayu apologised for causing Linlin to not be able to go home early and wanted to send Linlin to the station but she said it was okay and asked Sayu to just go ahead and sleep, she’ll make her way there by herself.

Another moving Linlin story was when Sayu borrowed a rubber band from Linlin before a concert. Sayu made a dango-hairstyle that day so she wanted to just go home with the rubber band. She told Linlin she’ll return it another day in front of the rest of the members where Linlin replied with an “Okay.” Later on when both of them were alone, Linlin told Sayu she could have the rubber band. Not that it’s a big deal since Sayu wouldn’t mind giving away her stuff too but the fact that Linlin didn’t say that in front of all the members, where Sayu would have probably done that in front of them, makes it touching. Linlin probably thought that if she told Sayu that in front of the rest of the members, Sayu would refuse to accept the kind offer so she did it in private. Sayu bought two rubber bands to return to Linlin.

When Sayu is with Gaki-san and Eri (Ojou3 ♥), everything becomes fun and they tend to laugh a lot. During such times, Reina will be like “What’s with the three of them again.” The three of them usually laugh so hard that they won’t be able to say anything during their laughing session. Sayu’s way of stopping herself from laughing is by clenching her upper row of teeth and lower row of teeth tightly.

There was a period of time whereby Sayu found everything funny. Even when there was a spider near Sayu’s feet, she would find it funny and when the spider crawls to their teacher’s area, it made it…somehow even funnier. She doesn’t find it funny now though. Sayu recalled two funniest episodes of her school life before joining Morning Musume. In one of the toilets of the school, the third cubicle had a loose lock where a small kick would be enough to open the door. They often help the one inside to kick open the door and well…they had fun doing that. Another funny episode was the picture of the maker of Doraemon which was put up in front of the school library. It was a picture of the maker folding his arms and he looked really funny. The picture doesn’t look funny anywhere else though, it’s only funny in front of the library, and when Sayu is together with her secondary school friend. She is really good friends with that friend and even until now, that friend goes to Morning Musume’s concerts to watch Sayu.

Sayu enjoyed herself in the Sendai concerts but because Morning Musume had the All Singles Coupling Collection album event the day before, she was a little exhausted the next day. The event was held in an outdoor area (Yomiuri Land) so they had their rehearsals and the event itself under the blazing sun. Then during the handshake event after the performance, the weather became cold. Thanks to the sudden coldness right after the humid weather, it kind of affected Sayu’s body. She was surprised by how lousy her stamina was during the concerts in Sendai

Sayu read the book series titled “Blackjack.” In one of the volumes, there was a case of a kidnap of a child. However, the kidnapper was injured. The child cared for the kidnapper kindly and slowly changed the kidnapper to become a good person. After that, the kidnapper returned the child and even kept in contact with the child.

Sayu’s sister doesn’t like milk and those common curries but she likes Indian curries.

Not that Sayu’s sister is an idiot, but she eats pet food. She will eat them and tell her kitty that it’s delicious and get it to eat it too. Back then in Yamaguchi where Sayu had a pet hamster, the hamster food that Sayu kept in her room finishes really quickly. Not being she has got a fat hamster, but because her sister eats them as snacks.

Sayu’s sister is a cheerful person and is hardly seen being depressed. Despite the problems faced at work and stuff, Sayu’s sister still believes in leading a happy life. Her sister is working in a store which has a karaoke. There’s a rule that the store’s workers are not allowed to be there in private but since it was near to her sister’s house and some workers have already broken that rule without getting caught, Sayu’s sister did the same. Everything went smoothly…but she left her mobile phone in the karaoke and went back there saying “I left my mobile phone behind in the karaoke room,” and ta-dah! She got herself into trouble.

The show started off with Sayu sharing another story that is related to her sister. According to Sayu’s mother, there is some sort of health check-up service available for the workers at her sister’s workplace to get an examination. However, Sayu’s sister hates injections so much that she will react violently and cry. Hence, she didn’t go for the check-up and insisted that she is all healthy. Sayu too, hates injections and she also hates going to the dental clinic. She will start crying from her house even before she reaches the clinic.

Morning Musume – Kimagure Princess

This week, the name of the “Sayu’s small room” corner has been changed to “Sayu’s big room” as suggested by a listener last week. With that, lets move on to the new corner.

A listener sent in asking Sayu if she has applied for a credit card. He also wrote in his mail that he is a little worried about the full-of-carelessness Kamei Eri, who got her very 1st credit card just a few months ago. Even though Sayu has turned 20, she didn’t get herself a credit card. It’s because Sayu prefers to stay safe to trying out new things. She doesn’t like the idea of having to go through the basic procedures of getting one and learning how to use it and the related functions. Its just her personality. Other members like Takahashi Ai has their personal credit card. Aichan once told Sayu that its better to have one but Sayu’s money is normally handled by her mother so whenever she needs money, she will just go to her mother for it.

Although Sayu doesn’t have a pencil case, she has lots of pencils and she doesn’t know why she buys them. She uses mechanical pencil more often then using normal pencils. Still, she buys dozens of them after seeing how cute the designs are despite not having the need for them.

Before Sayu turned 20, she wanted to drink alcohol as she has never tried drinking it before but now that she has turned 20, she doesn’t feel the urge to drink alcohol. Meanwhile for Gaki-san and Eri who had turned 20 last year, both of them drink alcohol pretty often and Sayu has heard them discussing about which alcohols are nice. They had invited Sayu to drink too. Sayu does want to go but she okay with just Oolong tea. Whenever Sayu’s mother drinks alcohol, she will ask Sayu if she wants some but Sayu will reject the offer. Sayu doesn’t see what’s so tasty in alcohols and was never drunk.

During handshake events, Sayu has troubles trying to process what the fans tell her at that very moment. For example, when a fan asks Sayu what she wants, even though Sayu has many items that she wants, she will not be able to think up of any at that very second to give the fan a good answer. As requested by a listener, Sayu did her “Yosshii” impersonation on the show.

Appearing on variety shows are gradually becoming enjoyable for Sayu now that she is getting used to it. Whenever she goes on variety shows, it feels like “Ah, I’m working.” Not as though she isn’t “working” when she is with the rest of the members. Just that the members can rely on their leaders but when she is alone, she has no one but herself. Although she does face challenges in the variety world, she takes on them optimistically and is now having fun.

Morning Musume – Aruiteru

Sayu likes the C/W of “Iroppoi Jirettai,” “Ai to Taiyou ni Tsutsumarete.” This song isn’t performed much and in fact, Sayu has never performed it in any of the concerts and events. (FYI, Eri sang “Ai to Taiyou ni Tsutsumarete” during Morning Musume’s FC Tour 2007 in Hawaii) It’s a song that Sayu listens to frequently and like Sayu has once mentioned, before she goes on variety shows, she will listen to Morning Musume’s songs to gain courage. Listening to this song, she can feel the members’ presence and their greatness through their voices.

A listener sent in a short mail telling Sayu that she hopes to see Sayu with the 2 ponytails hairdo when she goes on TV shows. Sayu pretty much laughed it off because Sayu usually sets the 2 ponytails hairdo when she goes on TV shows.

Instead of a balance ball, Sayu had received a beach ball from the “Ojigi de SHAPE UP!” members. She has no idea if it was given to her by mistake or they really had the intention of giving her a beach ball. Sayu initially wanted to use the balance ball to exercise so she inflated the rubber piece only to find out that it’s really a beach ball like what was shown on the packaging. She didn’t tell anyone about it and just left the ball at home as it is.

Normally, Sayu will be nervous during rehearsals for concerts but this time round, for ~Nine smile~ concert tour, she is more of touched than nervousness. The song she was referring to was none other than her favourite Morning Musume song, “Aruiteru.” In ~Nine smile~ concert, this song performance starts off as Sayu’s solo before the members join in. She was overjoyed when she got to know that she would be able to perform “Aruiteru” in the concert. During the rehearsal, when Sayu asked her teacher how her performance was, her teacher complimented her for doing a good job and commented that she must have had practised performing this song a lot.

Hamada Britney, the gyaru lady who was sitting next to Sayu on Sayu’s 2nd London Heart appearance was very friendly and spoke non-stop to Sayu. On the recording itself, Sayu was thinking about how she should talk to Britney and stuff when they go into breaks or preparations but Britney took the initiative to make conversations with Sayu which makes Sayu happy. She was surprised by the hyped-up tension of Britney. Sayu thinks that Hamada Britney is one who people can get along well with easily.

Sayu was supposed to go to the dentist after this radio show recording however, at the thought of already talking non-stop for an hour, she didn’t feel like going for her appointment so she asked her mother to cancel it for her. Her mother then replied with a “Ohhaa” which made Sayu wondered what happened. She decided to leave it as it is and didn’t reply her mother. Her mother later sent another mail to Sayu to correct herself. She initially wanted to reply with an “Okay” and not “Ohhaa.” It got a “You can actually type that wrongly?” reaction out of Sayu.

Morning Musume – Inspiration ♪

Some time ago, Sayu was sent to Yamaguchi for Nanchatte Renai’s promotions. Sayu was very happy to be able to hold a campaign there as Morning Musume had held only 2 concerts in Yamaguchi. There isn’t any special discovery that she made during this trip. She recognises the awesomeness of the fans who follows them no matter where they go though. During her Ameba Show which was one day after the events in Yamaguchi, Sayu saw the fans who followed them to Yamaguchi came back to Tokyo and were present for the show too. Sayu is grateful towards all these dedicated fans.

When Sayu was on “Gokigenyou” (A TV show), on 1 of the episodes, Inagawa-san shared a scary story with them. Sayu couldn’t exactly understand the story fully but the atmosphere of the studio was certainly scary enough. Also, as Inagawa-san spoke, the blood vessels in his eyes somewhat reddened and that force from that pair of eyes frightened Sayu.

Even when Sayu sees a baby. she says the same thing. But whenever she praises a baby for his/her cuteness, a small part of Sayu wants the mother of the child to see her praising her child.

Sayu loves cute girls. Just like when she looks at the rest of the members, she finds them cute too. Maybe its because Sayu is pretty free during song performances (She said this herself xD), she often ends up observing the other members and tries to imagine herself as one of the member. Apparently she enjoys doing that ^^;

Situation : While looking at your reflection in the mirror…
Sayu : Cute.
One of the reasons behind Sayu’s frequent self-proclamations of being cute is to give herself some confidence (She is cute). But now these self-proclamations have became more like a duty and something that she just has to do somewhat because she got herself this image.

Situation : Upon weighing yourself after not checking your weight for sometime and realising you have gained a surprising amount of weight…

This happens to Sayu. Although she weighs herself daily, as she can’t possibly bring a weighing scale along when she goes overseas, she can’t weigh herself. She will then overeat and end up regretting it.

Situation : Upon hearing that Nakazawa (Yuko)-san will be getting married…
Sayu : No way!
She will be happy for Yuko. In fact, she hopes that Yuko settles down soon.

Situation : Upon hearing that “Konusapi” (This radio show) will stop…
Sayu : No way…
Sayu will be shocked. She doesn’t want this radio show to end (This isn’t the 1st time she is saying this. This girl really loves “Konusapi”)

She doesn’t make confections so she can’t really relate herself to that situation well.

Sayu’s mother is a very careful person. If any of Sayu’s siblings is not feeling well, she will make sure Sayu doesn’t go close to him/her so that she will not get the virus. Therefore, Sayu doesn’t get much chances to say ask her sister how she’s feeling as she will only be able to see her after she recovers.

Situation : Putting on a sexy outfit and appearing in front of your boyfriend…
Sayu : How is it? ♥
Sayu cosplays often when she is at home. She wants to show people her cosplays rather than just looking at herself in the mirror and thinking that she looks cute in that outfit.

Something that irritated Sayu recently is…drama. She has been watching a 4-way-love drama and is so into it that she gets frustrated when the actor/actress be kind to another character when Sayu doesn’t think that the character deserves such a good treatment. The drama doesn’t move on as how Sayu wants it to be so she got irritated by it.

Back then in Yamaguchi, the sports festival are normally held in autumns. As a not-so-fit bunny, Sayu naturally feels troubled whenever summer vacation comes to an end. Sayu really hates events like foot race and obstacle race because whenever she participates in them, she has this feeling that the audience is watching her every movement. One more reason for why she doesn’t like sports festival is because of her family would turn up to support her. Her mother would cheer her name “Sayucha~n” out loud like nobody’s business and embarrass Sayu.

Whenever Eri is around, she makes the atmosphere better. Sayu believes she isn’t the only one who thinks so.

Eri notices every little thing. One perfect example – Recently, when Sayu greeted Eri in the morning, from her greeting, Eri immediately observed that Sayu wasn’t feeling too energetic that day. Sayu is amazed by Eri’s observation skills.

Linlin → Funny

Sayu is more than willing to send her elder sister all the detergents she won on “Gokigenyou” (A TV show Sayu appeared on not long ago). The other day when Sayu went over to her sister’s house, her sister was wearing the same outfit as the one she had on when she went out with Sayu. Sayu thought it was just coincidence since it was 2 different days. However, the day before the recording of this episode, Sayu received a mail from her sister with a picture of the purikura she took with her friends and AGAIN, her sister was wearing the same outfit. Sayu thinks that her sister may be beginning to neglect her own hygiene or something. During the visit to her sister’s house too, Sayu stayed over for a night and her sister slept in that outfit, without changing into pyjamas. She really wants her sister to start doing the laundry for her own good.

Sayu’s sister has a habit of sending her mails about where she went with her friends. Sayu has no idea whether she sent it because she is forgetful or she had other intentions, but Sayu’s sister often send her mails saying “Send me the venue I sent you the other day” as though Sayu is her notebook xD

Sayu’s sister touches her pet kitty’s paws often. Talking about the pet kitty, Sayu’s mother had found out about it already. It wasn’t Sayu who betrayed her sister though.

Its 2009 September 09! A day full of 9s~

Recently, whenever Sayu can’t fall asleep at night, she will play games. She will switch off the lights in her room so that the only light in the room is from her gaming device. One day, when she did the same thing, suddenly, the light of her gaming device flickered non-stop, as though there was a sandstorm. She took a break and turned it off before playing with it again. Again, around 15 minutes later, the same thing happened. Sayu was frightened as she was playing in the same room as the room where she met the girl. She thought it might be because of that so she stopped playing. The next day, she played again and her device didn’t flicker. Sayu then concluded that it was not her device that was not working well and that the girl must had been in her room that day.

Sayu made a small mistake of calling “Haro” “Haru” (Spring)

During one of the Hello! Project 2009 Summer ~Hello Chanpuru~ concerts, Sayu let down her hair for the first few performances that she was involved it. As she has a long break in between her first 2 performances and her next performance, she would only tie up her hair during that break. She ties up her hair during concerts because if she don’t, her hair will get in the way. Also, if she lets down her hair, its very warm and she will sweat a lot resulting in an ugly looking Sayu. Once, during a rehearsal, she didn’t tie up her hair and after all the sweating, her dance teacher commented that Sayu looked hideous ^^;

Sayu is a subscriber of Pocket Morning Diary. Like other subscribers, she pays the 315yen monthly to receive the mails sent out by the Hello! Project members. She reads all the mails as well as the Pocket Morning Q&A. For the July 26 Pocket Morning Q&A, the Morning Musume members were asked what they eat or drink during the break of the concert. As the question didn’t specify what break they were referring to, Sayu thought it was the break in between a song while other members answered it according to the break in between concerts. Hence, all the members’ answers were very different. Sayu was asked to verify with all the listeners whether Junjun really eats nattou after a concert. Its true. Junjun loves to eat nattou. As there are days whereby the catering service will not have nattou among their dishes, Junjun will always bring her own box of nattou.

Eri’s posture ♥

Although this dance movement looks like its harder for all 9 members to be in sync, they surprisingly did well for this part during the PV recording. Instead, its the other dance steps that the members can’t seem to be do it properly together. During their rehearsals, their dance teacher will point out any parts that wasn’t in sync to them. They are told “You guys aren’t in sync for this part” often and in fact, there are times whereby its just Sayu who isn’t in sync. Under such circumstances, she will confirm the movements again with her dance teacher.

Sayu realised that the choreographies for Morning Musume’s songs are becoming more and more difficult every time. When they first learned the choreography for “Resonant Blue”, Sayu thought, “Such difficult choreography wouldn’t exist” but as they moved on, songs like “Naichau Kamo” has an even more challenging choreography waiting for them. The dance steps have became so difficult that Sayu can no longer catch up without extra practice. Meanwhile, the Morning Musume fans are still able to dance together with them even without professional help. Sayu thinks that the fans are more talented than her.

- Dajarenboo Shogun –

#1. Rebaa mo tabe rebaa (If you eat liver too)
Although Sayu flushed this into the toilet bowl, she found it pretty good. In fact, she will give it a Shogun rank. Its a perfect pun for people to make when one is in a Yakiniku store with friends and family to get everyone hyped up.

#2. Konna ni oishii ikura, ikkura demo tabrareru ne (These salmon roes are so delicious that I can eat lots of them)
Nothing too special so Sayu flushed it into the toilet bowl.

#3. Ishikawa-san no meeru wa ki ga meeru (Ishikawa-san’s mail sounds depressed)
Dajarenboo Shogun!

#4. Hikouki no fukusoujuushi ni totte motto mo taisetsu wa pointo wa, fukusou juushi (A very important point for the co-pilot of a plane to take note of is the clothes)
Flushed into the toilet bowl. Sayu wasn’t the only one who took some time to comprehend the pun.

#5. Kono masukara wo tsukemasu kara (I’ll use this mascara)
Flushed into the toilet bowl~ The Morning Musume members make puns often and Linlin sometimes teach them some Chinese pun-like jokes. The puns and jokes they make are of Konusapi’s “Flushed into the toilet bowl” standard though…

#6. Kappa ga kyuuri o kapparau (The kappa took the cucumber and walked off)
Flushed into the toilet bowl ~ even though Sayu felt like giving it a “Dajarenboo Otousan” rank. This entry was sent in by Amakuchi-san. Amakuchi-san sends in mails to Konusapi frequently since 2 years ago. His suggested punishment lines were often used back then when “Quiz Shigesagon” corner was still going on. Sayu once said that Amakuchi-san’s punishment lines tend to be more embarrassing as compared to the rest of the listeners’ on one of the episode. So anyway, she took this chance to take revenge on Amakuchi-san by flushing his entry into the toilet bowl, lol. It wasn’t exactly flushed in just because of that though. It was partly because of the context of the pun.

#7. Aijou komete kaita rabu retaa wa yabuburareta (The filled-with-love love letter written by me was torn up)

Sayu hears stuff like about people’s love for one another will gradually weaken after they get married but Sayu will not want that to happen to her marriage. She wants her relationship with her husband to remain as before even after marriage.

Michishige Sayumi – It’s You ♪
Since its 090909, Sayu selected a song from Platinum 9 DISC.

Despite being the customer, Sayu doesn’t dare to speak up. For example, after a hair cut, although she wants a certain area to be styled another way/trimmed shorter, she doesn’t say it out. When getting a massage too, even when she wants the masseur to use a little more strength or to use lesser force as its hurting, she will just keep it to herself. If she happens to be together with her mother, she will ask her mother to tell the masseur that on her behalf.

Sayu fumbled with her lines quite a bit near the end of the show.
